Hi, I’m Sivapriya, 25 years old, and I have been working on this platform since February 2022. I teach primary level: Mathematics, English (including phonics); secondary level: Mathematics, English, and Science; GCSE level: Computer Science, Biology, Maths, Physics, and Chemistry (all boards); A-Level: Computer Science and Maths (all boards). I assist students preparing for SAT and 11+ exams, as well as IELTS, UKVI IELTS, TOEIC, and TOEFL. Experienced in supporting SEN students effectively. I have completed over 3000 sessions, guiding students to consistent improvement and increased confidence. Proficient in programming languages like C, C++, Java, Python, C#, and script languages such as JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. Additionally, I work as an IELTS trainer for a school in South Carolina. Previously, I taught English to students of all ages at a language school in Japan. With this experience, I am confident in my ability to guide my students towards enhancing their academic achievements. Furthermore, I am a very patient and dedicated teacher, focusing on creating a positive environment to foster the emotional, intellectual, and social growth of the students. I, having acquired the CertTESOL certificate, possess a profound understanding of delivering the target language through context. Besides that, with a bachelor's degree in computer science and engineering, I studied math and computer science until my 7th semester, thus gathering extensive knowledge in these areas. Having recently completed a postgraduate diploma course in teacher training in the Montessori method at INTESOL Worldwide, UK, and obtaining a certificate in teaching UK-based synthetic phonics, I specialize in creating engaging and exciting environments for teaching phonics and math. Through real-world applications, children can enjoy learning in a fun and interactive manner. Teaching Methodology: I favour the ESA (Engage, Study, Activate) method. Firstly, I engage and captivate the class. Next, they study the target language, followed by controlled practice activities. Finally, they engage in free practice activities related to the target language.

About me I love to travel, explore new places and meet people from different cultures. I spent ten years living in Athens, Greece where I worked as a private tutor: teaching TEFL to a wide variety of people - from complete beginners to students wishing to take Cambridge Proficiency exams in order to access UK universities. I have a BA Hons degree in Modern Languages: English/French with a module in Classical Greek Language and Literature. I believe in stress-free lessons , and learning in a relaxed setting. As a tutor I am not there to add pressure, but to help take pressure off. In terms of hobbies, I love reading, writing stories, and watching Turkish TV dramas. I am also a huge tennis fan. Last, but not least, I enjoy all forms of sugar - especially cake! Aside from my degree, I am qualified to teach TEFL. I really enjoy working with those who don't have English as a first language. It's a thrill to help them improve their speaking and listening - as well as reading and writing skills. It's wonderful to see them grow in confidence when expressing themselves in English. Furthermore, I am qualified to do proofreading. This fits in well with teaching English. I also have a certificate in Counselling Skills.
